This is a continuation on from the series of work that document Cairns in and around Cumberland Pile of stones. 

That body of work was documenting Traces of `humanity on the land. 

Landlines is a series of works documenting the traces of the land on Humans. 

hands are a record of our existence. 

A farmers hands are a record of their work with the land. 

You know when you shake hands with someone who works with them. Stronger, Coarser, Tougher. 

This series of images document those hands and the land they work, shown side by side.

Each title is the number of days the Farmer has lived. 

The series of works are all taken on farms in one valley in the Eden region of Cumbria. 

In some cases farmed for generation by the same family. All next to each other.
